Hastings is where Turtle Bay SUP & Surf began. Before operating on the River Medway in Kent, We spent years paddling, teaching and surfing along the Hastings coastline. It's still very much one of our favourite places to launch and somewhere we return to whenever conditions are right.
Local Knowledge Matters.
Having paddled here for many years, we know the local tides, the localisms, best launch points and how quickly conditions can change. Sea paddleboarding is very different from paddling on a river and should only be attempted when conditions are suitable, but when they are it's a great place to paddle.
Who is Sea Paddling suitable for?
Sea Paddleboarding isn't recommended for complete beginners unless conditions are exceptionally calm. If you're new to paddleboarding, we strongly recommend getting booked onto a lesson first and get some practice in on flat water before progressing to the sea.
After Your Paddle.
Hastings has plenty to offer. Take a walk along the seafront, explore the historic Old Town, enjoy fresh fish and chips from the fishing quarter or stop for a coffee at one of the independent cafes around George Street or along the promenade. The pier is also just a short walk from several launch areas.

Why Paddleboard in Hastings?
Hastings offers one of the most varied coastlines in the South East. From the historic Old Town and fishing beach to quieter stretches towards St Leonards, it's a fantastic place for experienced paddleboarders to explore. On the right day the coastline offers calm water, great views of the town, stunning scenery towards the East Cliffs and Hastings Pier takes on a whole new light when viewed from the water.
SUP Surfing.
We have enjoyed many SUP Surfing sessions at Hastings over the years. While we currently don't teach SUP Surfing, we will be very soon and it's still one of our favourite places to get out on the water when the swell arrives.

Is parking available? There a number of car parks close to the beach in Hastings so parking should not be a problem.
